Item description:

Refurbished Sega Dreamcast with SD card reader. The Disk drive has been replaced with a Version 5.15B SD card reader. A 8GB card is included (that's around 8 to 10 games in size) 128GB is recommended but you can use up to 256GB cards.

The original case was yellowed so I've replaced it with a new high quality replacement, also a new memory battery has been fitted.

SD Card Preparation

Formatting: The SD requires the FAT32 file system.

For cards larger than 32GB, use a third-party tool like GUIFormat to bypass Windows limitations.

Set the Allocation Unit Size (cluster size) to 32KB or 64KB for optimal performance.

Folder Structure: The device reads games from folders named sequentially: 01, 02, 03, etc.

The 01 folder must contain your menu software (like GDMENU or openMenu).

Each game must be in its own numbered folder (e.g., 02, 03) containing the .GDI or .CDI files. 

3. Software Management

Instead of manual folder numbering, use a manager to automate the process:

GD MENU Card Manager: A modern tool that supports openMenu, which includes features like game art and metadata.

SD Card Maker: A classic, simple tool for quickly building the basic folder structure. 

4. Basic Operation

Booting: The console will automatically load the menu from folder 01 upon startup.

Disc Swapping: For multi-disc games, press the physical button on the SD board to "insert" the next game.

In-Game Reset: You can often return to the main menu by holding A+B+X+Y+Start on your controller.

All of our refurbished tech comes with a 6 month warranty that covers a back to base repair or if it can't be fixed a refund.
